Recruiting new talent
People join us from many different professional and academic backgrounds– not just business or finance-related ones. That's one of the things that makes us a great company to work for.
We recruit talented people for open roles in every region and division, with a special emphasis on recruiting wealth management professionals. Last year, we hired 328 client advisors externally in Wealth Management and 389 experienced financial advisors in Wealth Management Americas. Across the firm, there were a total of 8,988 external hires in 2015.
Special emphasis on the next generation
UBS is one of the largest private providers of traineeships in Switzerland. Every year, we offer training programs to more than 2,000 young people because they bring new viewpoints and skills to our global teams and are a great source of entry-level talent.
In 2015, we hired 475 university graduates into one of our undergraduate or MBA training programs, along with 820 interns. In Switzerland, we recruited 193 trainees into our Bank Entry Program for high school graduates (BEM), formerly known as the All-round Traineeship Program. We also hired 296 apprentices.
